My personal and professional lives are firmly entrenched in the West End and provide me with a relevant perspective concerning the needs of our community and educational system.

My passion for education and NDG/Montreal West is deeply rooted in my life experience. Generations of the Lalla family have chosen to make this area their home, and it is where I have spent most of my life. It’s where I grew up, put down roots, raised a family and devoted my entire career to education; beginning as a teacher, then as an Elementary and High School Principal, and presently as School Commissioner.

While my sons attended elementary school, I also gained valuable perspective as a parent; active on many Parent Committees (now Governing Boards) including serving as President of the Central Parents’ Committee.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree from Loyola College (now Concordia), a teaching degree from McGill University, and a post-graduate Diploma in School Administration from Concordia University.
